YPSIDIXIT is mesmerized by/wary of Cremaster series creator Matthew Barney's new film "Drawing Restraint 9." The Quicktime trailer, with soundtrack by Barney's partner, New Age musician Bjork, is a spellbinding curio. There's one photo from the film that Y finds exquisitely beautiful. The story concerns two Western guests on a Japanese whaling ship who fall in love during a tea ceremony, in a setting inspired by the Shinto religion. A large petroleum jelly sculpture is also involved.

Normally my tolerance for art films is close to zero. But I'm really intrigued by this film.

I'll have to shield my eyes when they do the human sushi scene though.

I just don't have anything to say , but shrug. So it goes. Not much on my mind recently. I can't be bothered with anything recently.
