Mr. F., I was there this a.m. It's right on my bike-route to work.
The new site is not working for me and has none of the ambiance of the old one. Also, they have chairs set up in front of Rackham--but there's only a third as many as on the parking structure.
Also, folks sitting on the grass are blocked by the chair-people in front on the concrete. Then, the movie projector also blocks the stage. It's just not the same at all.

I'll be working at Top of The Park, so say hi if you see me running around in my extremely bright yellow t-shirt!
The venue change was unavoidable of course, and no one's really sure whether it'll work; they know it'll take a few days for the site to bed in, and changes might be made. Sadly though, there just isn't enough space for all the chairs...

so i'm way out of the loop. where is the new TOP location? it's too overwhelming for me to ever go with my kids, sweating in the sun.
i'm a hardcore Ypsi girl. and i'm really digging the live Washington street music every Friday night.
our Friday evening will be spent eating calzones and drinking beer while our kids have a movie night. have a great weekend!

I highly recommend seeing An Inconvenient Truth (the Al Gore movie). I saw it this evening and found it pretty interesting (as long as you are cool with lecture-style documentary). It really doesn't have a whole lot of new information, but it really pulls on your heart strings to lower your energy waste when you see the cute little polar bears struggling to find food and land to walk on, and end up drowning (global warming, ice cap melting issues).
One big thing though, it seems from the movie that Al might make a run for it in '08, he makes a lot of bites about his loss to Bush in 2000 and how he would have caught and fixed this problem if he was elected.

Amanda: That sounds like a very nice evening.
The new TOTP location is right in front of Rackham, facing Ingalls Mall and the bell tower.

Big Mike: Thanks for the recommendation. I plan to see it next week after work.
