That's funny. Where did you take it?

"No Amnety"?

If you want to make a fool of yourself in public, don't drag your minor children along for the ride. Geez...

"I know it's hot honey, but if we don't protest, the non-English speaking foreigners will steal your way of life."

Aaron: I dug it up online somewhere. Dunno where it was taken. In a town noted for its high percentage of Mensans, clearly.

And I like that schlumpy woman schlumped in a saggy chair. Protesting in comfort, amid flags.

you misunderstood.
See the girl's sign directs passersby to honk if they want her mother to render that message in english instead of ignorant reguritation.

beOHbe: Ah, so that's it. :)

Posted by: Laura at 31 mei 2006 13:25

Oh, and there's this one, too.

I'm very flattered to be visited by the Lord High Moran. That's a first. I'll keep my brain, thank you.

Posted by: Laura at 31 mei 2006 13:34

Or maybe they're talking about this Moran.

Posted by: Merkan at 31 mei 2006 13:36

Hey! Some of my best friends are Morans. They have very nice brains.

Interestingly, pretty much everyone in that picture is descended from immigrants to this country. Our xenophobic immigration policies have made the USA a very difficult country to immigrate to which is very sad indeed. It is difficult sometimes even for people who are married to US citizens (as my brother and his wife have discovered. They have been married for eight months but cant live together because she still has not gotten a visa to come here).

Lynne: That is awful. I can't imagine.

Yes, I also wondered if every person pictured were a Native American.

Merkan: Interesting page about that Prohibition figure, thanks.

this last year I started asking people "what generation immigrant" they were. most have thought about it and answered 2,3 or 4. One answered, "the legal way"!

great photo, thanks, mark
