Get Well Raymond

I don't know if this seems a little tacky or too public or whatever, but this entry may be considered a get well card that you are invited to sign with wishes for fellow blogger and friend Raymond to get well after his recent battles with hospitalizing chest pains. Please join me in wishing him well, with a speedy recovery.

Health issues can be the most frustrating.I certainly hope raymond is feeling better!

I do too...hopefully the weekend will give him a break of sorts.

I am SO glad you made this post. I obviously don't know the man at all, but when I read his recent post about his trip to the hospital and the recurrence at home, I felt very distressed and scouted around trying to find a way to comment on his site that I really hoped he WOULD GO BACK TO THE HATEFUL DOCTORS rather than die right there in his chair. We've never met you, Raymond, face to face, but we care about you because of the person you show us in your blog and here in this one. Please take care.

Addiann's comment actually brought a tear to my eye I have to admit; it is so well said as usual. I have had the pleasure of meeting Raymond and needless to say he is a wonderful man. Hope he feels better.

What Addiann said.

Posted by: Dan Arbor at 15 april 2005 10:25

Yes. That was well said.

Posted by: Laura at 15 april 2005 10:27

Raymond has to keep laughing...even if the audience is nurses. They can be cool to joke with.

Posted by: leighton at 15 april 2005 11:02

I can only echo Addiann's comment.

I'm sorry, Raymond, your experience at the hospital was so rotten - negligent, actually. My limited experiences there were entirely positive.

Posted by: tom at 15 april 2005 11:41

I agree with Leighton...not to be trite but laughter is very good medicine.

Yes, the hospital personnel seemed remarkably unconcerned; I was surprised. "If it happens again, just call 911." Oh. OK. That's reassuring. At any rate.

'Twas a dangerous cliff, as they freely confessed,

Though to walk near its crest was so pleasant,

But over its terrible edge there had slipped

A Duke and full many a peasant;

So the people said something would have to be done,

But their projects did not at all tally.

Some said: "Put a fence round the edge of the cliff,"

Some: "An ambulance down in the valley."

-Joseph Malines

Raymond, I'm sure that one of your biggest frustrations right now is "Why did this have to happen during the month of puppetry?" If, between you, Brian, and your marionettes, you decide to try and go through with the last couple events, and need a hand or two to lighten the workload, just let us know.

Otherwise, good luck, take care, and know that while most of us misanthropes aren't in a position to be praying to Jesus on your behalf, we are thinking of you.

that is gracefully said. I liked the poem, as well; thanks Brett.

Dear Raymond,

When illness comes into our lives, and makes us stop doing the things we love, we ask why me? There is no clear simple ansewer, only the question, and the wish to get well. Then there is the comfort of friends and family extended to us, which we would never otherwise have received. Then in time we recover, and rediscover the good things in our lives, and value what we have all the more. I wish you the best and a good recover.

That is a kind thought.

I feel humbled by the comments and wishes. Thank you all very much. It really helps. I'm tired, but okay. We are reorganizing our show and will have something weird and silly on stage. The exhibit goes on regardless. The opening is Tuesday April 26 from 6-9. You are all most welcome to come out and play.

I am touched by this. Thank you. I go lie down now...

It is great to hear from you. I'm anxious to see the whole show, given the high quality of the "demo." Thanks for stopping by Raymond.
