Lewd "Guy Game" Screening Forces Granholm to Flee Press Conference

In one of her more hopeless political campaigns, Granholm and state senator sidekick Hansen Clarke want to ban "bad" video games from the state of Michigan.

At a recent press conference, [scroll 1/2 way down] Granholm and Clarke screened "The Guy Game," a video trivia game. If a player gets right answers, the girls pictured in the game reveal more and more skin.

Granholm called this dopey game "utterly degrading...sickening...poisoning..." before she stormed out of the room, unable to witness such degrading filth one second longer.

Left to his own devices, Clarke spluttered, by way of non-explanation, "Those are real breasts; they're not fake. Well, they could be implants." What?

One suspects that if Granholm had been governor in 1865, she'd denounce the degrading, sickening, poisoning undergarments section in the eagerly awaited Sears Roebuck Catalog.

Madame Guv might prefer a video game with violence. Players could simulate shooting mourning doves south of I-94. "Gray Feathers - Have a BLAST!" Coo, cooo, coooooo...

Yes...where does one draw the line? Anyways, if you don't like such things there's always the option of....not buying it!

Posted by: Anonymous at 28 maart 2005 13:39

Yeah, this is smokescreen. There are much more important things to focus on than this non-issue.

Love the description of the Guv's "acting" when she stormed out of the room. What is this crap? Write her an email and tell her to do her damn job.

You are right; it's a non-issue, not to mention impossible; try emptying the ocean with a teaspoon.

Thank you for the link, Dan--I hadn't known about that page; interesting.

Granholm would be above politial posturing just to win over conservative votes, wouldn't she?

"Granholm would be above politial posturing just to win over conservative votes, wouldn't she?"

(can't respond: doubled-over, laughing...)

Let's see. The state has one of the worst unemployment rates in the country. Roads, schools, and Infrastructure are crumbling. People in the valued 18-34 age bracket are fleeing the state. The state attorney is going after municipalites offering same-sex partner benefits. But apparently, state government has more important things to worry about like boobs and the Ten Commandments.

Dan Arbor: (Ypsidixit blinks innocently, dumbfounded) :)

DaveD: That's well put, in a nutshell.

For the most part, I like Granholm. But every once in a while she just leaves me shaking my head and going "huh?" This is one of those times.

Posted by: lynne at 28 maart 2005 16:39

As DaveD points out, there are so many other concerns that demand attention, not this fluff.

Posted by: Laura at 28 maart 2005 16:45

I just wish Granholm would behave like politicians on the national stage and worry about the important things like the one in 3 million coma victims and steroids in baseball...

Posted by: farlane at 28 maart 2005 17:29

Indeed, Farlane. At any rate, a lewd video game is certainly not a state issue. If you couldn't buy it at the store, you could just order it online. Any kind of ban or what have you would be totally useless.

Maybe the Guv dated John Schneider (Dukes of Hazzard) only once because he was too sexy and made her act up. They musta been a cute couple though.

I never knew that. A lady of many facets, clearly.

Wonder if those spiffy Dukes of H cars with the doors welded shut and all are orphans by now.
